My name is Aishatul Radhiah. I come from Wakaf Tapai and I am 28 years old. I am deaf since I was born, but I have learned to communicate with sign language and also through writing. It can be difficult around here to talk to people as not many people know sign language. So we usually communicate by texting.
I went to a special education primary school in Chendering, then a secondary school called Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ibrahim Fikri. Afterwards, I went to Vocational Special Education Secondary School in Shah Alam for deaf and mute people.
I started working at Tapai in 2017 because my father advised me to. He is very old and I need to provide for him and my mother.
My family is big, I have seven brothers and six sisters, and I am the only one who is handicapped. I enjoy working at Tapai as the people here are very nice and respectful. I like sewing bags and helping with the design process. I also love batik, which was my favourite class at school. During my free time, I usually play badminton with my friends.
